Locals refer to Orcas Island as “The Emerald Isle” or “The Gem of the San Juans” – whatever you choose to call it, it’s a winning combination of stunning shorelines, the highest mountain in the islands and a handful of charming hamlets. On Orcas, you can visit one of the nation’s most beautiful parks, the 5,252-acre Moran State Park where you can hike, bike or swim. You can also drive, bike or hike up Mt. Constitution, the islands’ highest point where you’ll get a 360° breathtaking panoramic view of island-dotted ocean and a snow-capped Mt. Baker.
