A complex maze of islands, lakes and reefs penetrating more than three miles inland from the Malaspina Strait, Pender Harbour is home to the small oceanside communities of Madeira Park, Garden Bay, Irvine's Landing and Kleindale. Until very recently, most travel among these communities was by boat rather than the twisting roads, giving the area its well-earned nickname "the Venice of the North."
Pender Harbour is an acclaimed vacation destination due to its pleasant climate, spectacular scenery, fabulous outdoor recreation, numerous festivals and laid-back lifestyle. Pick a wilderness lake, forest, bay, mountaintop, lush valley or old logging road to explore and compliment your outdoor adventures with time spent visiting quaint shops or waterfront restaurants.
Accommodations around Pender Harbour range from the rustic to the luxurious, and with several major marinas, the area is also a paradise for yachters.
