Known locally as the "Friendly Isle," Lopez Island is widely held to be the most laid-back of the San Juan Islands — a pastoral paradise for bicycling, kayaking and just plain relaxing. State and county parks provide visitors access to quiet beaches affording spectacular views of the other islands. And the weekend Farmers' Market, where you can pick up fresh produce, flowers and crafts, is Lopez Island must.
