The San Juan Islands have long been recognized as one of the premier vacation destinations in the Pacific Northwest. Enjoying a substantially drier climate than the Seattle area, the San Juan Archipelago (half of which belongs to Canada where it is known as the Gulf Islands) is comprised of more than 450 islands, most of which are uninhabited. Of those on the American side of the border, the three largest islands are Lopez Island, Orcas Island and San Juan Island.

With diverse topography ranging from rocky beaches to mountain meadows and lush valleys, plus an equally diverse offering of cultural, historical and culinary diversions, the San Juan Islands offer an infinite variety of getaway opportunities for couples, families and groups of all ages and interests.
