"Rosario" was the name adopted by Seattle shipbuilding magnate Robert Moran for the elegant private estate he built on the rocky shoreline or Orcas Island's East Sound between 1906 and 1909. Today, the name applies to residential community that has grown up around Moran's original property as well as to the renowned Rosario Resort & Spa, which is centered on the historic Moran Mansion.
Kenmore Air seaplanes serve Rosario with daily flights beginning February 26, 2010. Flights can be booked from Kenmore Air Harbor and Seattle Lake Union, and from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport with a complimentary shuttle connection.
