San Juan Island has long been recognized as one of the premier vacation destinations
in Washington. With a diverse topography ranging from pebbly
beaches to mountain meadows and lush valleys, it is truly
one of nature's finest playgrounds.
There are charters for
whale watching, sailing, kayaking, fishing, and island tours
as well as bicycle, sailboat, kayak, moped and cars available
for rent. When it comes to cuisine, Friday Harbor is a menu
in itself. Sit down for a five-course meal at one of the many
fine restaurants, or enjoy a lighter fare at a lovely open-air
bistro or ice cream parlor while watching the ferries pass. Shop the boutiques and specialty stores and book a room
in one of Friday’s charming B&Bs, inns or hotels.
There are
also parks and museums to be seen, such as San Juan Historic
Park, which celebrates the island’s past and was the site
of the “Pig War” that determined the island’s ownership. To
see more of the island, take a cross-island transfer to Roche
Harbor Resort, featuring colorful gardens,
brick-lined paths and impressive yachts from around the world.
Let us know in advance and we'll pick you up there for a late
afternoon return flight to Seattle. |
