Kenmore Air is excited to announce we’re the official airline of the Friday Harbor Film Festival.
For the fourth year running, the FHFF has invited some of the most talented filmmakers throughout the world. This annual event brings entertaining and enlightening stories to San Juan Island – just a short 45-minute flight from Seattle.
The FHFF showcases films about the Pacific Ocean and its rim, island cultures, environmental issues, and more.
The 2016 selection will be shown November 4 – 6. The lineup promises to be some of today’s most thought-provoking and inspirational films.
Among the highlight films is Shaw Island “Heaven on Earth”. Directed by John Holmes, it tells the story of one of our local islands – Shaw Island. Though rarely visited, Shaw Island is a beautiful gem nestled in the middle of the San Juan Islands.
Lime Kiln Point State Park and the Killer Whales, directed by Tom Hoyt showcases another of our favorite local destinations. Known by San Juan Island residents as ‘Whale Watch Park,’ the film describes the park’s natural and historical features. And, it introduces some of the park’s most famous guests - the Southern Resident killer whales.
Additionally, we’re really excited that Denali will be shown. This incredibly moving tribute dives into the powerful relationship man and dog share. Directed by Ben Knight, it tells the story of the photographer Ben Moon and his beloved dog, Denali, that helped him rally to beat cancer.
