2017 Canadian Lawn Bowling Championship | August 13 – 19
The best lawn bowlers in Canada will be competing at the 2017 Canadian Lawn Bowling Championship. Hosted by the Juan de Fuca Lawn Bowling Club, the championship will be held on the lower grounds of West Shore Park and Recreation.
2017 Canada Dry Victoria Dragon Boat Festival | August 18 – 20
Dragon boating began in China more than 2,000 years ago. Today, this competitive sport has become a way to foster community. Dragon boat teams consist of 20 paddlers sitting two abreast; a Cox, responsible for steering; and a drummer, responsible for setting the paddler’s rhythm. This three-day festival will be held in the Inner Harbour and feature a variety of activities and races.
Fab Forts at Fort Rodd Hill | August 19
If you want to stay dry, don’t attend. This is Victoria’s largest squirt gun battle and it’s going to be wet! Held at Fort Rodd Hill & Fisgard Lighthouse National Historic Sites, attendees are invited to try and storm the fort and participate in capture the flag.
Ryder Hesjedal’s Tour de Victoria | August 20
Riders of all fitness levels are invited to participate in the Ryder Hesjedal’s Tour de Victoria. Three routes of varying lengths will be available, each taking you through Victoria’s breathtaking scenery.
Victoria Fringe Theatre Festival | August 23 – September 3
This 12-day celebration feature live performances from around the world. With an eclectic mixture of spoken word, drama, musicals, dance, comedy, magic, and theater, artists will dazzle audiences. Performances are uncensored to allow artists full creative freedom.

Movie Under The Maltworks: Fight Club | August 26
It wouldn’t be summer without an outdoor movie. Join fellow Fight Club enthusiasts for this special viewing under the stars at Philip’s Brewery. This is a 19-and-over event.
Great Canadian Beer Festival | September 8 & 9
Since 1993, the Great Canadian Beer Festival has been delighting attendees with some of the best beer from Canada and the Pacific Northwest. This year, more than 60 breweries will be showcased. Music and activities will be available throughout the two days.
Pacific Links Bear Mountain Championship | September 11 – 17
This official PGA Championship TOUR event returns to the Pacific Links Bear Mountain Golf Course. The tournament will be held on the Jack and Steve Nicklaus Co-Design Mountain Course. All three competitive rounds will be broadcast live by Golf Channel to more than 200 million homes in 84 countries and 11 languages around the world.
