All my life I've looked at the Olympic Mountains from across the sound with wonder--knowing they are not a range but a pristine and dramatic clump and mindful that it was "the last bit of uncharted land in the lower forty-eight". With my children in town for the holidays--knowing they've seen so much of the world but never the Olympics from above--we had the brainstorm of booking a private tour with Kenmore Air. The itinerary: The Olympics over the top and through the middle, Neah Bay, Tatoosh Island, our dramatic ocean coast, and then over the icy and desolate Olympics again back to Kenmore. It's one of those treats that, while not cheap, was a great value.
